Gothic Glamour Ruby Revenge

It's no secret my focus is gothic style, but I'm as inspired by gothic architechture, as I am culturally. There's a huge amount of drama and romance that went into Gothic architecture, and nothing more obvious than in the windows, and stained glass installations. Sweeping arches, intricate shapes and designs, with a nearly lace-like detailing. Utterly delicious. I hoped to capture that energy, with this design. I custom drafted a bezel design, first in paper, and then in deftly, dilligently sawed sterling silver. But, it wasn't enough, so I hand pierced and shaped the finial points, and added a subtle sterling spiderweb over the nave point of the design. A hand twisted squarestock wreath finishes off the look. A truly superb, smooth Indian ruby cabochon takes center stage, and demands attention. Bloody red, sumptuously heavy, and highlighted with a large window carefully cut behind it, this gem draws the eye, wherever it goes. Like a large blood drop, it captivates. I'm obsessed, obviously.
