Cemetary Sweetheart

I went to two goth shows in the last week, and got inspired, hardcore. I've had these utterly spectacular, luscious acid green Aurora opals in my stash for a while. They finally told me what they wanted to be, and I went with it. This is a definite focal piece, at a hearty 43mmx28mm pendant size. I normally always strongly advise against opals for everyday wear, due to opal's extreme softness, and fragility. However, I have an utterly genius stonecutter up in Canada, who has figured a way around this problem. The opal is layered under clear quartz, which fully protects the softer opal, a process known as doubletting. Shoutout to Jeremy, of @phoenixrisinggemshop , who made these gorgeous coffins for me. I went fairly simple with the design for this gorgeous gem, to let the stone speak for itself. And speak it does, shouts, really. I went for a gothic fence style bezel, to tie into the coffin theme, and a nice wide enhancing outline, polished to a mirror finish. As with all my vitreous gems, I fully skeletonized the back of the pendant, to let the light in to make this opal fairly glow. All sterling construction, of course. I have two more of these beauties in stock, if you *HAVE* to have one.
